How Codex maintains the guides

Codex researches official operator, park, museum, and destination sources, extracts practical details, and reviews each claim before publication. Research runs and earlier versions are retained. The website does not make paid AI API calls.

What a check date means

It records when the source material was reviewed.

Known, unknown, and changing details

We do not guess prices, opening hours, accessibility arrangements, age limits, or travel times. Unsupported or expired facts cannot remain in a published guide, and conflicting claims require review.

No invented reviews

Source-based descriptions are not visitor testimonials. We do not invent ratings or copy reviews from other websites. Photographs require documented reuse rights and photographer attribution. Our photo credits include original sources, licenses, and historical photo dates.

Balanced assessments and outside reviews

Where evidence is available, our assessments explain strengths, trade-offs, who a place suits, and why. Each paragraph links to its sources. We distinguish operator claims from independent perspectives, link to reviews at their original publishers, and do not combine ratings across websites. A single review is one person’s perspective, not proof of a consensus.

Visitor reviews and comments

Visitors can submit their own reviews or comments without an account. Contributions stay private until moderation and visits are self-reported. We publish relevant criticism as well as praise; promotions, harassment, private information and unsupported serious allegations are not appropriate. Use the report link to request review of a published contribution. Any displayed visitor average counts only approved ratings submitted on this website.

Corrections are welcome

Visitor corrections enter a review queue. Codex or an editor checks the evidence before changing facts. Manually locked facts are protected from automated replacement.

Score safeguards

Material safety or closure concerns, unresolved questions or insufficient evidence withhold the score. Material operational or pricing concerns cap it at 5.9; material value or accessibility concerns cap it at 6.9. These are editorial safeguards, not safety certifications. Actual material concerns remain visible on the guide.

Editorial scoring rubric

Our /10 score applies category-specific weights to evidence-backed dimensions. Research confidence describes the strength and limitations of that evidence, not how enjoyable a place is. Odd-numbered scores fall between the anchors below; 1 represents severe shortcomings.
